11 Killed, Including Women and Children, as Roof Collapses During Storm in Kohat
According to Rescue 1122, the tragic incident occurred while a family gathering was taking place inside the house. Rescue teams launched an emergency operation and recovered all 15 people trapped beneath the debris, shifting them to nearby hospitals.
Rescue officials confirmed that 11 victims succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining injured were provided first aid and transferred to different hospitals for further treatment. Women and children were among the majority of the casualties.
The deceased identified so far include 50-year-old Basmina, 45-year-old Nawab Jana, 45-year-old Farmina, and six-year-old Arham.
Those injured include Safiullah (30), Nabila (25), Sharda Naz (30), Saifullah (3), Ruwaiza (4), Gul Marjana (50), Sakina (60), Jaweda (30), Adeeba (3), Sherina (20), and Rukhsana Bibi (56).
Meanwhile, heavy rains also caused a wall to collapse in Attock, injuring five people. In Dera Ghazi Khan, flash floods surged through seasonal streams following torrential rainfall, while electricity supply was disrupted in several areas of Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Muzaffargarh due to the severe weather.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as more rain is expected in several parts of the country.
