Iranian President Arrives in Islamabad with High-Level Delegation for Official Visit
The Iranian president was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
President Pezeshkian arrived aboard the special aircraft Minab 168 and was honored with a 21-gun salute upon arrival. Pakistan Air Force fighter jets, including JF-17 aircraft, also performed an aerial salute to welcome the Iranian leader.
Children dressed in traditional attire presented flowers to the Iranian president while waving the flags of Pakistan and Iran. President Pezeshkian warmly acknowledged the welcome by waving back to the cheering children.
The Iranian president also exchanged warm greetings and handshakes with Pakistan’s leadership. The visit comes at the invitation of Pakistan’s president and prime minister and marks President Pezeshkian’s first visit to Pakistan following the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
Meanwhile, strict security arrangements have been implemented in Rawalpindi. More than 600 police officers and personnel have been deployed, with heavy security around Nur Khan Airbase and all major routes connecting Rawalpindi to Islamabad. Authorities have also announced that no crossing will be allowed during VIP movement.
