Strong 5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Punjab and KP, Panic Spreads Across Multiple Cities
A 5.4-magnitude earthquake jolted several cities across Pakistan, including parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing panic among residents.
According to the Seismological Center, strong tremors were felt in multiple cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Swat, Bajaur, Buner, Hangu, Shangla, Kohat, Mohmand and Shabqadar.
Tremors were also reported in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Dera Ismail Khan and Multan along with surrounding areas.
The earthquake triggered fear and panic among the public, forcing many people to rush out of homes and buildings while reciting prayers.
The Seismological Center reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan. The quake was recorded at a depth of 215 kilometers, which contributed to its wide impact across the region.
No immediate reports of casualties or major damage have been received so far.
