Tight Security Measures in Rawalpindi Ahead of Iranian President’s Pakistan Visit
According to police officials, strict security has been enforced at Nur Khan Airbase and surrounding areas. More than 600 police officers and personnel from Rawalpindi Police will remain deployed until the Iranian president’s arrival and departure.
To oversee security arrangements, one SSP, one SP, and seven DSPs have been assigned. The deployment also includes 7 inspectors, 55 upper subordinates, 243 constables, and a reserve force.
Additionally, the Elite Force will contribute 78 commandos, including 11 upper subordinates and 2 female officers, to ensure high-level security. The deployment also includes 4 female police personnel, 5 Dolphin Force teams, and 164 officers from the Riot Management Unit.
Police authorities stated that additional personnel will be stationed at all major routes connecting Rawalpindi with Islamabad. During VIP movement, no crossing or unauthorized movement will be allowed.
Security operations will be supervised by SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob, while overall command and control will remain under CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani.
