Colorful Shandur Polo Festival 2026 Begins at World’s Highest Polo Ground
The traditional Shandur Polo Festival 2026 has kicked off in a colorful ceremony at Shandur, widely known as the world’s highest polo ground.
The festival is being organized with the collaboration of the governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, along with the Pakistan Army.
Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, inaugurated the Shandur Polo Festival 2026 as the chief guest.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, he described the festival as an important symbol of national unity, cultural harmony, and tourism promotion in Pakistan.
On the first day, spectators witnessed an exciting traditional polo match between the teams of Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fans enthusiastically appreciated the outstanding performances of both teams.
A spectacular paragliding demonstration also captivated the audience and added to the excitement of the event.
The Shandur Polo Festival will continue for three days, attracting tourists and sports enthusiasts from across Pakistan.
