Pakistan Announces Cut in Petrol and Diesel Prices for One Week
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs4 per litre for the next week, while diesel prices have been lowered by Rs2 per litre.
Following the latest revision, the new price of petrol stands at Rs373.78 per litre, while diesel will now be available at Rs378.78 per litre. The revised prices will come into effect from midnight and remain applicable for one week.
The reduction follows a decline in global oil prices after easing tensions in the Middle East, raising expectations that Pakistan would also significantly reduce petroleum prices.
However, many citizens have termed the latest price cut “too little to matter,” saying the relief is negligible compared to the sharp rise in inflation and overall living costs.
