4 Killed, 16 Injured as Windstorm and Heavy Rain Hit Bannu, PDMA Issues Alert
According to the report, strong winds and torrential rain caused walls, houses, and shops to collapse at multiple locations across the district, resulting in casualties and injuries.
Among those killed were two men and two children. The injured included four men, five women, and seven children, all of whom were shifted to nearby hospitals for immediate medical treatment.
The PDMA Emergency Operations Center stated that district administration and relevant authorities are actively engaged in relief and rescue operations in the affected areas, while damage assessment is still underway.
PDMA has urged the public to take precautionary measures during severe weather conditions, avoid weak and dilapidated structures, and remain in contact with local authorities in case of emergencies.
A PDMA spokesperson said the authority is in continuous coordination with all relevant institutions and is closely monitoring the situation. The Emergency Operations Center remains fully operational, and citizens have been advised to report any emergency by calling the helpline 1700.
