Smartphone Usage in Pakistan Reaches 71.6%, Broadband Users Hit 161 Million
Smartphone usage in Pakistan has reached 71.6 percent, reflecting continued growth in digital connectivity across the country.
According to Pakistan’s Economic Survey 2025-26, smartphone usage recorded a 0.6 percent increase during the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, the number of 2G users declined, with their share falling to 28 percent.
The survey revealed that the total number of mobile and fixed phone users in Pakistan has reached 207.22 million. Overall mobile connections also increased to 82.6 percent, compared to 81 percent last year.
Pakistan’s broadband subscriber base has expanded to 161 million users, indicating strong growth in internet access nationwide.
The document further stated that by March 2026, around 161.6 million mobile phones had been locally manufactured in Pakistan, highlighting the expansion of domestic smartphone production.
According to the survey, Pakistan remains among the countries offering the cheapest internet data in the world. Total internet data consumption in the country is estimated to have reached 30,783 petabytes, reflecting rapidly growing demand for online services, streaming, and digital communication.
