seminar in karachi marks world teachers day.

To mark the World Teachers Day, a seminar was held at Karachi Arts Council.

The seminar, organized by Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority, was aimed to appreciate and encourage the hard work and commitment teachers put in on daily basis to bring the light of education to the children.

The event served to provide a platform to hold constructive debate amongst stakeholders and experts on how best to solve the issues pertaining to teachers and consequently improve the state of the educational sector.

Sindh Education Minister, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, attended the event as the chief guest.

While speaking to media, after the seminar, Khuhro said that being a teacher is a highly respected profession and that teachers have more of a responsibility at times towards the development of children than parents even.

He said that teachers should be recognised and appreciated even more than before as they so deserve.

He said the issue of teachers’ absenteeism is being addressed and that parents should also take the responsibility to inform concerned authorities about the absence of teachers.

Khuhro said the government was taking measures to modernize the education system.
