Early morning rain brings brief relief to Lahore as temperatures soar again
Light rain was reported in several areas of Lahore during the early hours, accompanied by partly cloudy skies. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 39°C on Wednesday, with minimum temperatures recorded at around 27°C. Evening humidity levels were recorded at 51 percent on Tuesday.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department attributed the weather pattern to moist currents from the Arabian Sea penetrating upper and central parts of the country, combined with a shallow westerly wave affecting northern regions. Officials have forecast partly cloudy conditions with isolated light rain possible over the next 24 hours.
The rainfall follows a weak monsoon system that brought moderate precipitation to Lahore and other parts of Punjab before moving out of the province. According to weather forecasts, a new rain-bearing system is expected to enter Pakistan on July 19, potentially bringing significant rainfall over two to three days.
Authorities have advised residents to take precautions against heat and humidity. The Punjab Disaster Management Authority has directed all relevant departments to remain on alert, with emergency operation centers monitoring the situation round the clock.
