AJK Home Secretary Says Operation Against Armed Miscreants Essential to Restore Peace
Speaking at a joint press conference alongside the Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education, the Home Secretary claimed that the banned organization has been disrupting peace and normal life across AJK for the past 38 days. He alleged that the group has been using protests in the name of public rights as a cover for intimidation, coercion, and political pressure.
The Home Secretary further accused the organization of promoting an anti-Pakistan narrative and making derogatory remarks against the Pakistan Armed Forces. He said attempts were being made to undermine the longstanding historical relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir.
According to the official, traders have allegedly been threatened into shutting down markets, while public life has been severely affected in several areas.
He also alleged that students, women, and children were being used as human shields, claiming that young people were being diverted from education toward protest activities.
The Home Secretary stated that normal life has been restored in most parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with educational institutions reopening and resuming academic activities. He added that state institutions remain fully prepared to respond to any unlawful activities, intimidation, or attempts to disrupt public order in accordance with the law.
