Government Announces Historic Cut in Petroleum Prices, Petrol Slashed by Rs74 per Litre
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the benefits of improving regional economic conditions and declining international oil prices are being immediately transferred to the people.
Under the new pricing structure, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs74 per litre, while diesel has been cut by Rs67 per litre.
Following the reduction, the new price of petrol has dropped from Rs373.78 to Rs299.78 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has decreased from Rs378.78 to Rs311.78 per litre.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the government is fulfilling its promise to provide economic relief to the nation and ensure that the benefits of falling oil prices reach the common citizen.
It is worth noting that the government had also reduced petroleum prices last week, bringing additional relief to consumers amid rising inflation and economic challenges.
