Strong Winds and Heavy Rains Wreak Havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9 Dead and 7 Injured
According to details, strong winds, torrential rains, and lightning strikes triggered several accidents in different parts of the province. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released an initial damage report confirming the casualties and losses.
The report stated that the nine deceased include five men, two women, and two children. In addition, seven people sustained injuries in separate incidents.
The affected districts include Dera Ismail Khan, Upper Dir, Kohat, and Orakzai, where severe weather conditions caused significant damage. A total of four houses were affected, with three partially damaged and one completely destroyed.
Director General of PDMA has instructed the concerned district administrations to immediately provide relief assistance to the affected families and speed up rescue operations.
PDMA, Rescue 1122, and local district administrations are currently present in the affected areas and actively engaged in relief and rescue activities.
Authorities have advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel due to the ongoing weather conditions, especially to sensitive tourist destinations. Citizens are urged to stay alert and contact the PDMA helpline at 1700 for emergency assistance or weather-related information.
