Wedding Function at Petrol Pump Goes Viral in Lahore, Social Media Calls It a New Trend
Marriage is traditionally seen as the union of two individuals and, in the past, weddings were simple family gatherings held at home. Over time, wedding celebrations evolved from home-based ceremonies to grand events at wedding halls, lawns, and banquet venues. Social media and the growing culture of lavish spending have further transformed weddings, introducing new and extravagant trends.
The latest viral video showed a family hosting a lively Qawwali night at a petrol pump instead of a traditional venue such as a hall, hotel, or garden. Family members were seen enjoying the celebration, leaving viewers both amused and curious.
Many social media users jokingly called it the “new wedding trend,” with some humorously suggesting that petrol pumps might soon become wedding venues across the country.
However, reports revealed that the unusual venue was not part of a planned trend but rather the result of an emergency situation in Lahore. The Mehndi ceremony of a young couple was originally scheduled to take place in an open ground, where all arrangements had been completed and the event had already begun.
