PAF Training Aircraft Crashes in Mardan, Two Pilots Martyred
According to rescue officials, the aircraft went down near Jabar Canal on Mardan Road in the Katalang area. Rescue 1122 teams, including ambulances and fire vehicles, rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the crash and launched emergency operations.
Initial reports confirmed that both pilots onboard embraced martyrdom in the tragic incident. The martyred pilots were identified as Captain Qasim and Captain Talha.
Rescue authorities further stated that at least two civilians were seriously injured due to the crash. They were provided first aid at the site before being shifted to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep sorrow over the incident and paid tribute to the martyred pilots for their sacrifice in the line of duty.
In his statement, Mohsin Naqvi said that Captain Qasim and Captain Talha attained the great status of martyrdom while serving the nation. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved families.
The minister also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
