Pakistan mango prices to drop as exports halt
Summer rains have increased the fruit's natural sweetness, and this year's harvest is expected to exceed previous seasons. However, border closures linked to regional conflict have halted fruit and vegetable exports, boosting domestic supply and pushing prices lower.
Currently, 15 to 16 varieties are available in markets, including Sindhri, popular for milkshakes, and Anwar Ratol, prized for its sweetness. Traders expect retail prices to fall significantly in coming weeks, allowing more households to afford the fruit often called the king of fruits.
