Pakistan Working for Safe Return of 10 Citizens Held by Somali Pirates: Foreign Office
The spokesperson stated that Pakistani authorities are in contact with the Somali government and relevant institutions to secure the release and safe repatriation of the hostages.
During the briefing, the Foreign Office also addressed regional and international matters, emphasizing that any attempt to stop water flow under the Indus Waters Treaty would be a violation of international law. The spokesperson warned that Pakistan retains all available options to safeguard its national interests if such a situation arises.
Pakistan reiterated that it remains committed to its position on the Indus Waters Treaty and stressed that disrupting water flow would be considered a breach of international agreements.
Regarding the Abraham Accords, the spokesperson said Pakistan’s policy remains unchanged and clear. Pakistan continues to support an independent and sovereign Palestinian state and stands firmly with the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.
The spokesperson further revealed that a resident of Azad Kashmir, Zeeshan, had reportedly been detained by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC). Pakistan’s High Commission is in contact with Indian authorities and efforts are underway for his release.
