Heavy Rain Batters Lahore, Nishtar Town Receives Highest Rainfall
According to Wasa, Nishtar Town received the highest rainfall at 48.5mm, followed by the airport area with 40mm and Johar Town with 37.5mm.
The downpour also led to an accident in Wapda Town, where two people were injured after a wall collapsed onto a rickshaw. One of the injured was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment, Rescue 1122 said.
Wasa teams launched drainage operations across the city, with Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed inspecting key locations and directing officials to speed up water clearance efforts. All disposal stations were reported to be operating at full capacity.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in parts of Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and the Potohar region, with the possibility of heavy rainfall and hailstorms in isolated areas.
