Heatwave Alert, Temperatures May Reach 50°C
According to the weather department, temperatures in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, and Nawabshah may rise between 47°C and 50°C during the ongoing heatwave. In Mohenjo-Daro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and Khairpur, temperatures are forecast to remain 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal levels.
Meanwhile, districts including Tharparkar, Badin, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Jamshoro are also expected to experience extremely hot weather, with temperatures likely to range from 44°C to 47°C.
In view of the severe weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has directed relevant authorities and institutions to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incidents related to heat exposure.
Regarding Karachi, the weather department stated that hot and humid conditions are expected to continue over the next three days. Intermittent strong winds are likely to blow across the city today, while temperatures may reach 37°C today and tomorrow, rising further to 38°C on Saturday.
Officials added that southwesterly sea breezes are expected to continue, which may provide slight relief despite the humid weather conditions.
