Ameer-e-Hajj Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhaifi Urges Pilgrims to Adopt Taqwa
Addressing millions of pilgrims gathered in the plains of Mount Arafat for Wuquf-e-Arafat, the central pillar of Hajj, Sheikh Al-Hudhaifi said that adopting Taqwa is the hallmark of true believers.
He reminded pilgrims that Allah alone is the ultimate truth and has the power to resurrect the dead. He said the Day of Judgment will be extremely painful and terrifying, to the extent that mothers will forget their children and children will forget their mothers.
The Imam stressed that preparing for the Hereafter is among the greatest obligations of a Muslim. He stated that the foundation of this preparation is Tawheed — worshipping Allah alone and avoiding all forms of shirk (associating partners with Allah).
During the sermon, Sheikh Al-Hudhaifi highlighted that Allah Almighty made Hajj a fundamental pillar of Islam and commanded Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to invite humanity towards pilgrimage. He said the pilgrims gathered in Arafat are bearing witness to the oneness of Allah and rejecting shirk.
He further stated that Allah declared the completion of the religion in the plains of Arafat and instructed believers to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The Imam also emphasized the importance of establishing prayers, observing fasting during Ramadan, performing Hajj, and giving charity from one’s wealth while always keeping the fear of Allah above all priorities.
Millions of pilgrims from around the world remained engaged in prayers and supplications throughout the Day of Arafah, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and blessings from Allah.
