PM Shehbaz Invites Chinese Tech Investment During Visit to IBI Headquarters in Beijing
Addressing a ceremony attended by representatives of more than 150 companies, the prime minister said stronger institutional and business linkages between Pakistan and China remain central to the two countries’ All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
Shehbaz Sharif assured Chinese firms of full government support for expanding their operations in Pakistan, particularly under CPEC 2.0, where Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology have been identified as key priority sectors.
Highlighting opportunities for investment, the prime minister invited Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones, including the first SEZ near Port Qasim in Karachi, which spans over 6,000 acres and is being developed with modern infrastructure and facilities.
He also emphasized the importance of youth development, stating that Pakistan is focusing on technical training and skills development to prepare young people for emerging technology-driven industries and strengthen future Pakistan-China cooperation.
The prime minister was received at IBI headquarters by Wang Shaofeng, Party Secretary of Beijing’s Fengtai District, and IBI President Qian Xiaojun.
