Millions of Pilgrims Perform Wuquf-e-Arafat, the Pinnacle of Hajj
The first groups of Pakistani pilgrims departed for Arafat after Isha prayers last night, while additional caravans continued arriving throughout the night under the supervision and guidance of Hajj officials and coordinators.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, all pilgrims are expected to reach the plains of Arafat before Zuhr prayers today. This year, Imam of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhaifi, has been appointed as Amir-e-Hajj and will deliver the Hajj sermon at Masjid Namirah.
Following the Hajj sermon, pilgrims will offer Zuhr and Asr prayers together in shortened form within their camps. Throughout the day, worshippers will remain engaged in prayers, repentance, and supplications until sunset during the sacred observance of Wuquf-e-Arafat.
The plains of Arafat are witnessing an extraordinary spiritual atmosphere as millions of Muslims from around the globe unite in worship and devotion. Special prayers are also being offered for peace, prosperity, and stability in Pakistan and across the Muslim world.
After sunset, pilgrims will depart for Muzdalifah, where they will offer Maghrib and Isha prayers together and spend the night under the open sky.
On the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, pilgrims will proceed to the Jamarat to perform the symbolic stoning of the devil. Following the ritual, pilgrims will offer animal sacrifice, shave or trim their hair, remove the state of Ihram, and perform Tawaf-e-Ziyarat before returning to Mina to complete the remaining Hajj rites.
