Meanwhile, the Saudi Meteorological Department has warned of an intense heatwave expected during the Hajj days in Makkah and surrounding holy sites. Temperatures may rise up to 47 degrees Celsius, while humidity levels are expected to remain around 40 percent. Dusty winds are also forecast in several areas.
Saudi officials have advised pilgrims to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and strictly follow safety guidelines to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses.
According to official figures, the number of international pilgrims has surpassed 1.5 million, with the majority arriving by air. Authorities have enhanced facilities at the holy sites, including shaded areas, cooling fans, mist spray systems, and medical services to ensure maximum comfort and safety for pilgrims during the spiritual journey.
