Heavy Fines Approved for Dumping Animal Waste in Streets and Alleys
According to details, a fine of Rs50,000 will be imposed on violators who dump waste and animal offal at banned locations. To ensure strict monitoring and prevention, a special vigilance squad has also been established.
During a video-link meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, authorities reviewed foolproof cleanliness arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha across the province.
Maryam Nawaz directed officials to launch a comprehensive public awareness campaign to discourage people from disposing of sacrificial waste in unauthorized places. She also ordered special cleaning and monitoring operations near drains, canals, and public areas in every city.
The Chief Minister further instructed authorities to ensure cleanliness in private housing societies, railway colonies, and cantonment areas during Eid-ul-Adha. She also ordered special cleaning arrangements in 2,687 major commercial markets across Punjab.
Speaking during the meeting, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that all departments must work together as “One Government Unit” to maintain cleanliness during Eid celebrations. She added that officials showing outstanding performance would be rewarded, while negligence and public complaints would lead to strict accountability.
