Pakistan’s Punjab Rescue Services on High Alert Over Possible Flood Surge in River Chenab from India.
Secretary Emergency Services Department, Dr. Rizwan Naseer, stated that Rescue Punjab teams have intensified preparedness measures in areas adjoining the River Chenab to effectively respond to any emergency situation.
According to Dr. Naseer, specialized water rescue teams equipped with life jackets, emergency boats, and other rescue gear have been deployed in vulnerable areas along the river. He added that District Emergency Officers in Chenab-linked districts have been directed to enhance flood monitoring and field surveillance activities.
“The Provincial Emergency Operation Center is continuously monitoring the situation in River Chenab and coordinating preparedness efforts across the province,” Dr. Rizwan Naseer said.
Authorities have urged residents living near riverbanks to remain cautious and cooperate with local administration and rescue teams in case of any emergency alerts.
