Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Lash Multiple Areas of Pakistan
In Islamabad, adverse weather conditions disrupted several flights, causing delays and operational difficulties at the airport. In Lahore, strong winds and rain led to power outages in multiple areas as electricity supply was suspended due to the storm.
Several regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also received rainfall. In Swabi, six people were injured in different incidents after lightning strikes during the storm, while electricity supply remained suspended in many localities.
Rain was also reported in Neelum Valley and Muzaffarabad in Azad Kashmir.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, most parts of the country are expected to remain hot and dry today, while Sindh and southern Balochistan are likely to experience intense heat. However, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and the Potohar region may witness dust storms, thunderstorms and rain at isolated places.
