Pakistan Government Increases Petrol and Diesel Prices for One Week
The Government of Pakistan has announced an increase in petroleum product prices, according to the Petroleum Division.
Officials stated that the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs15 per litre, bringing the new diesel price to Rs414.58 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs14.92 per litre, setting the new petrol price at Rs414.78 per litre.
The Petroleum Division confirmed that the revised fuel prices will remain effective for one week, with the new rates implemented from 12:00 AM.
Sources within the Petroleum Division further revealed that the petroleum levy on both petrol and diesel has also been significantly increased.
The levy on petrol has risen by Rs13.91 per litre, increasing from Rs103.50 to Rs117.41 per litre. Similarly, the levy on diesel has been raised from Rs28.69 to Rs42.60 per litre.
The latest increase is expected to impact transportation costs, inflation, and prices of essential commodities across the country.
