Cambridge AS Level Maths Paper Leak Raises Questions Over Exam Transparency, Says APPSF
In a statement, Mirza said repeated incidents of paper leaks linked to Cambridge examinations were casting doubt on the integrity of the international assessment process and reflected administrative incompetence.
He stressed that students who had spent months preparing for the examinations should not be penalized for failures within the examination administration. Instead of cancelling the examination component altogether, affected students should be given the option to re-take the paper, he said.
Mirza further demanded strict disciplinary action against those responsible for the theft and unauthorized circulation of examination papers, urging authorities to conduct a transparent investigation in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and other relevant institutions.
He also called on Cambridge authorities to ensure that no additional fee is charged to students or schools in case of re-examination arrangements.
“Students worked hard to prepare for the exams and the institution must take every necessary step to ensure fair results and protect the interests of candidates,” he said.
The APPSF president emphasized the need for immediate reforms and stronger safeguards to restore confidence in the examination system and maintain transparency in future assessments.
