US Congress Introduces Resolution Praising Pakistan’s Peace Efforts in Iran Conflict
Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts during the Iran conflict have received major international recognition after a resolution supporting Pakistan’s peace initiatives was introduced in the US House of Representatives.
The resolution was presented by Al Green, who described Pakistan as a “neutral and reliable mediator” during the ongoing regional tensions involving Iran.
According to the text of the resolution, Pakistan played a significant role in maintaining diplomatic communication between conflicting parties and helped facilitate ceasefire efforts and constructive negotiations. The resolution also praised Pakistan for hosting diplomatic delegations and arranging special measures to support peace talks.
The document acknowledged that Pakistan endured economic and logistical difficulties, including city shutdowns and heightened security arrangements, to create an environment conducive to dialogue and conflict resolution.
The resolution further highlighted the humanitarian and economic impact of the Iran conflict, stating that thousands of people were killed and millions displaced. It referenced international estimates indicating that nearly 3.2 million people were affected by displacement due to the ongoing crisis.
Lawmakers also emphasized the enormous financial burden of the conflict, estimating daily war-related costs at nearly one billion dollars, while warning of severe disruptions to global energy supplies and fuel markets.
The resolution concluded by stressing that ending the conflict is in the interest of regional and global stability, while recognizing Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role in promoting peace and dialogue.
