Pakistan Expected to Host Second Round of US-Iran Peace Talks Next Week
Pakistan is expected to host the second round of peace negotiations between the United States and Iran next week amid renewed diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions.
According to reports, both sides have made significant progress in negotiations, with nearly 85 percent of disputed matters reportedly resolved. However, the nuclear issue remains the biggest obstacle to reaching a final agreement.
A Turkish news agency reported that talks aimed at ending ongoing tensions and conflict between the two countries are likely to resume soon. Sources suggest that a preliminary agreement could potentially be reached before Donald Trump visits China on May 14 and 15.
Diplomatic sources stated that Islamabad is optimistic about hosting another round of negotiations following recent developments. Pakistan is reportedly playing an active role in promoting peace and dialogue in the Middle East.
Previously, Pakistan also hosted the first round of talks in Islamabad in an effort to help reduce tensions and support diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran.
Observers believe renewed negotiations could open the door for broader regional stability if both parties manage to overcome remaining disagreements, particularly regarding nuclear-related issues.
