Hot Weather to Persist in Karachi as Heatwave Grips Parts of Sindh
The maximum temperature in Karachi is likely to range between 36°C and 38°C, while the minimum temperature recorded overnight was around 29°C. Intermittent strong winds are also expected, currently blowing from the west at a speed of 11 km/h. Humidity levels in the city stand at approximately 66%, contributing to the overall warm and slightly humid conditions.
Meanwhile, a heatwave is expected to affect several districts across Sindh. The Met Office has warned that central and upper regions of Sindh will remain under heatwave conditions until May 3. Areas including Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, and Sanghar are expected to see temperatures 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal.
Additionally, districts such as Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur will also remain under the influence of intense heat.
The department further noted that a system of western winds may enter the northwestern parts of the country tonight, potentially bringing thunderstorms and rain to upper and central regions.
