Elderly Woman Jumps into Drain
According to SSP Central Dr. Imran, police initially received a report that a body was floating in the drain. However, further updates confirmed that it was a woman being carried away by the strong water current.
A rescue operation was immediately launched by Madadgar 15 and Super Market police teams near Teen Hatti, Baloch Para. By the time responders arrived, the woman had drifted several kilometers and reached near the Lyari Expressway.
Police officials acted swiftly and managed to pull her out of the water. She was then shifted to the police station for safety and initial assistance.
Authorities confirmed that the woman, identified as Zakia, a resident of Hijrat Colony, remained unharmed despite the dangerous situation.
Preliminary reports suggest that she had an argument with her husband prior to the incident, which led her to take the extreme step. Police have stated that further legal proceedings are underway.
