Man Sets Wife and Three Daughters on Fire
According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred in the Shahdara area, where the accused, in a fit of rage, locked his family inside a room and set it ablaze. As a result, the mother and her three daughters sustained severe burn injuries and were immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital in critical condition.
On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, Hina Parvez Butt, visited the hospital to inquire about the victims’ health. She assured the family of full support, including legal, medical, and psychological assistance, and directed doctors to provide the best possible treatment.
Police have arrested the accused husband, and further investigations are underway.
Hina Parvez Butt strongly condemned the act, stating that anyone capable of committing such brutality against his wife and innocent children deserves no leniency. She emphasized that violence against women and children is a grave crime against humanity and will be dealt with strictly under the law.
