10 Killed as Violent Protests Erupt in Karachi

According to local authorities, angry protesters attempted to storm the United States Consulate Karachi on M.T. Khan Road. Security personnel reportedly opened fire as demonstrators tried to breach the compound, leading to multiple fatalities. The injured and deceased were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd, while protesters responded with stone-pelting. Several vehicles were damaged, and a traffic police post in the Sultanabad area was set ablaze.
A large number of protesters remain gathered near the US Consulate area, where negotiations are ongoing between demonstrators and senior police officials, including the SSP Keamari, according to security sources.
In Lahore, protesters vandalized security installations outside the United States Consulate Lahore. Police successfully prevented demonstrators from entering the consulate premises, though several security camps were reportedly dismantled.
In Islamabad, demonstrators advanced toward the United States Embassy Islamabad. Police responded with intense tear gas shelling and aerial firing to halt the march.
