Secretary-General Candidate Macky Sall Calls on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
Macky Sall, candidate for the position of United Nations Secretary-General, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Friday (July 10).
Welcoming Sall, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast commitment to multilateralism and reiterated the country's strong and unwavering support for the central role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed the hope that the incoming UN leadership would continue to advance the three core pillars of the United Nations—peace and security, development, and human rights—in a balanced and effective manner.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan's enduring commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, emphasizing the importance of the faithful implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions, respect for international law, and adherence to international treaties as essential foundations for global peace, security, and prosperity.
During the meeting, Macky Sall expressed his deep appreciation for Pakistan's longstanding contributions to the United Nations and commended the country's leadership for its constructive role in ongoing international peace efforts.
