Pakistan, Bangladesh Agree to Enhance Cooperation on Policing, Cybercrime and Training
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday (July 10) met with Bangladesh's Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on the sidelines of engagements at the United Nations Headquarters, where the two leaders agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, both ministers discussed strengthening collaboration in law enforcement, including training programs for police officers and the introduction of exchange initiatives to enhance professional capacity and institutional cooperation.
The two sides also agreed to deepen cooperation in combating cybercrime and preventing online fraud, recognizing the growing importance of coordinated efforts to address emerging security challenges in the digital domain.
The meeting featured a detailed exchange of views on the Iran–United States tensions and the evolving security situation in the Middle East. Both ministers emphasized the importance of dialogue, regional stability, and collaborative efforts to promote peace.
Bangladesh's Home Minister praised Pakistan's constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that, by the grace of Almighty Allah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir had played a remarkable and unforgettable role in advancing peace.
"We must seize new opportunities to further strengthen our bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of shared interest," Mohsin Naqvi added.
