Imran Khan Hospital Transfer Case PTI Files Contempt Petition Against Govt
According to the petition, PTI has requested the Supreme Court to initiate contempt proceedings against those responsible for allegedly failing to comply with the court’s order.
The petition seeks the issuance of show-cause notices to the respondents and alleged contemnors, along with directions for them to appear before the court in person.
PTI has also requested the Supreme Court to declare the respondents guilty of contempt of court and punish them in accordance with the law.
The petition further asks the court to order the immediate transfer of Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for a medical examination and treatment.
The party has also requested the appointment of a court officer or local commission to ensure implementation of the Supreme Court’s order.
The contempt petition was filed by PTI lawyers Uzair Bhandari and Salman Akram Raja.
Several officials and government representatives have been named as respondents, including Chief Commissioner Sohail Ashraf, the Secretary Interior, Inspector General of Prisons, Adiala Jail Superintendent, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and the Information Minister.
The development comes after the Supreme Court had earlier adjourned the related case until September 16.
