Governemt Approves Deployment of Army in Rawalpindi for Six Months
According to the notification issued in this regard, the deployment has been approved under Article 245 of the Constitution of Pakistan. Three companies of the Pakistan Army will be deployed in Rawalpindi.
The notification states that the armed forces will assist the Rawalpindi district administration in maintaining security and ensuring peace and order in the city.
Sources said the Home Department Lahore had requested the deployment of the army in Rawalpindi. Following the request, the federal government granted approval for the deployment.
The decision comes as part of security arrangements aimed at maintaining law and order and supporting the local administration when required.
