Public Voxpop over Former PM Imran Khan Medical Treatment
Speaking about the issue, one young citizen said that medical treatment is a fundamental right of every human being, adding that Imran Khan is not only a Pakistani citizen but also a prominent political figure. He said the Supreme Court had ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment, but, according to him, the authorities instead took Khan to PIMS Hospital for a check-up and transferred him back to Adiala Jail after only a few hours.
Another citizen said that all prisoners should have equal rights, including access to proper healthcare. He pointed out that thousands of prisoners are currently held in jails across the country and said that those requiring specialized treatment should also be provided access to medical facilities outside prison.
Another young man expressed concern over the circumstances surrounding Imran Khan’s medical examination. He said public attention had been focused on Shifa International Hospital, while Khan was taken to PIMS Hospital late at night and kept there only for a short period before being transferred back to Adiala Jail.
The citizens described the situation as unfair and called for the relevant authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding Imran Khan’s medical treatment and hospital transfer. They emphasized that adequate healthcare should be ensured for every prisoner and that medical decisions should be made according to the patient’s needs.
The views expressed by the citizens reflect public concern over the former prime minister’s health and the manner in which his medical treatment is being handled.
