Dozens of boats take part in Freedom Rally off Karachi coast
The rally set off from Keamari Jetty, with vessels adorned in green and crescent flags, as activists and fishermen raised patriotic slogans including "Pakistan Zindabad," according to party organisers. During the event, the central Muslim League party distributed boats to deserving fishermen as part of an initiative to provide them with dignified employment and improve their economic conditions, officials added. The rally was led by Central Muslim League Sindh President Faisal Nadeem and Karachi President Ahmed Nadeem Awan.
Speaking at the occasion, the leaders said Pakistanis from the mountains to the depths of the sea were celebrating their freedom with enthusiasm, and that the rally was a testament to the resolve to keep the green crescent flag flying high everywhere, whether on land or sea. They added that the Pakistani nation remained united and vigilant on every front, and that the party had organised various events across the city during Independence Month to include every segment of society in the celebrations, highlighting the true spirit of freedom and promoting national unity.
The leaders further stated that the country was entering an era of strength and dignity, with the world recognising Pakistan as a strong and respectable state. They said the Pakistani nation took pride in its naval, land and air forces, which had made the country's defence impregnable and enhanced its global prestige, adding that the Pakistani people were courageous and victorious, capable of facing any challenge.
Referring to the Makkah Agreement, the leaders described it as a vital need for the Muslim Ummah, saying Pakistan had always played a positive and effective role in uniting the Ummah and providing leadership, which was a source of pride for the entire nation.
In concluding remarks, the leaders urged the nation to celebrate Independence Day with full fervour, hoist the green crescent flag on homes, streets, boats and vehicles, and send a message to the world that the Pakistani nation was alive, dignified and united, possessing the ability to confront every challenge.
