All Pakistan Pensions Association demonstrated a protest before Peshawar press club on Monday(January 6) to double the amount of pensioners in Northwest Pakistan.
Large number of protesters took part in the protest and were carrying banners and placards.
Protest was led by the provincial president of All Pakistan Pensions Association Fida Muhammad Durani.
He said pensioners’ children should be given 33% kota.
He said according to the decision of Supreme Court and a circular issued by a central government the amount of pension should be doubled.
He demanded pensions ended after 2001 should be restored and payment of group insurance should be given without any conditions.
Protesters said they will go for a hunger strike if their demands are not met and if anyone suffers during this it would be the government's responsibility.
