saudi fm says musharraf case is pakistan’s internal matter.
Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal has clarified on Tuesday (January 7) that former president Pervez Musharraf’s issue is Pakistan’s internal matter in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.
He said that How can they interfere in internal matters of a friendly country.
Prior to Saudi Foreign Minister’s visit, it was speculated that he may also discuss a possible exile deal for the former military ruler Pervez Musharraf who is facing high treason trial.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had already dispelled the impression of linking the Saudi FM’s visit to Musharraf s case and insisted that it is Pakistan s internal matter.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to enhance cooperation in all fields including investment‚ trade‚ energy and export of skilled and semi-skilled manpower to the Kingdom.
The understanding came at a meeting between Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al Faisal in Islamabad.
Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan has a profound sense of affinity with Saudi- Arabia and its fraternal people, which is rooted in our common faith, heritage and values.
Saudi Arabia’s positive contribution to support Pakistan’s endeavors for economic development is deeply appreciated. There is a mutual desire to further intensify economic interaction in the years ahead.
