9 Killed, 9 Injured as Heavy Rain and Windstorms Cause Collapses Across Punjab
According to Rescue 1122 Punjab spokesperson Farooq Ahmad, the most tragic incident occurred in Attock, where a wall collapsed near Naya Pump due to strong winds and heavy rain, killing two people and injuring three others.
In Khushab, specifically in Qaidabad, one person was injured after being struck by lightning during the storm.
Meanwhile, in Sargodha, a person sustained injuries when a signboard fell amid intense winds and rainfall.
Another incident was reported in Sheikhupura, on Chak Rasala Road, where a wooden roof collapsed, injuring one person.
Rescue officials stated that all severely injured victims were provided immediate medical assistance and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions and contact Rescue 1122 by dialing 1122 in case of emergencies.
