Central Ashura Procession of Shabih-e-Alam and Zuljanah Held in Lahore
The central procession of Shabih-e-Alam and Zuljanah was taken out in Lahore on Youm-e-Ashur to commemorate the martyrdom of the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), and his loyal companions in Battle of Karbala.
Thousands of mourners joined the central procession, which is moving along its traditional routes across the city.
The procession reached Mohalla Shian, where the Azan-e-Ali Akbar was recited at the local mosque. Murtaza Mousavi delivered the emotional call to prayer in remembrance of Shehzada Ali Akbar (AS). As the words Allahu Akbar echoed, mourners broke into tears and grief.
Participants continued mourning throughout the night with matam and noha khwani, remembering the sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala.
At Rang Mahal, procession participants will offer Zuhrain prayers under the leadership of Allama Syed Jawad Mousavi.
Strict security arrangements have been put in place for the central procession. Heavy police deployment is present along the route, while law enforcement agencies are monitoring the procession through surveillance cameras.
According to officials, the procession that began from Nisar Haveli inside Mochi Gate will pass through designated routes and conclude near Karbala Gamay Shah outside Bhati Gate around Maghrib prayers.
